It's Fat Fish Friend Friday... so here's more art of my Selachian alt-sona, Domako.
People seemed to really like the portrait I drew of him, even if it's pretty clear his personality would basically be "fat beach bum likes to eat" even from a simple portrait of him.
(Yes, the species finally has a name now, even if it's rather unoriginal.)

The "scars" on his chest are meant to be gill slits, it's a 50/50 chance whether or not any given drawing of this species will feature them or not.
They are able to breathe both through using their gills and through using their lungs like terrestrial creatures, perhaps a canon explanation could be that in drier environments where the lungs are being used exclusively the gills close up tight to keep from drying out, to the point of being nearly invisible... or it's just that early concept art of a character/species tends to go through adjustments as time goes on and artists have new ideas or revise old ones, and not every iteration is 100% canon.
