While I'm drawing and posting random Super Mario stuff for some reason, here's Buck... reimagined as a Birdo. Because why not?

I'm not particularly familiar with the Mario franchise and most of my experience with it comes from hanging out with my roommate while he's playing Mario Kart, Mario Party, Mario Tennis, Mario Soccer, Mario Tax Preparation, etc. so I feel a bit odd drawing fan-art for a franchise I'm a casual fan at best of--but I find some of the aesthetics and creature designs interesting. 

As for why I didn't draw, say, another Koopa based off Buck, or a Yoshi modeled after Buck or Dominic Duncan, or just put Skunk Boy or Tex or Big Jack in overalls and a hat and let them pop magic mushrooms and jump on angry mushrooms that resemble at least one of my coworkers, and opted instead to draw a Birdo, I have no actual idea--I guess I just find the canon character/design intriguing in some way, and if I'm gonna base a fan character off the baddest bitch in the franchise, I better base said fan character off one of the baddest bitches in my own canon...

I tried to incorporate some aspects of Buck and his fashion sense here--the vest, the orange bandanna in place of the orange undies and/or orange shirt, the silver ring on his finger since there's no ears to put the earring in, and most importantly, the inclusion of a long flowing mane on a creature that probably shouldn't even have hair!
