Wolfy by LordDominic

Wolfy

Before the "magic pets" like Damijan and Tino started showing up in my art and hanging out with Skunk Boy and friends, there was Wolfy, Skunk Boy's weird mutant pet wolfdog.

Nearly 10 years ago, I adopted the design that went on to be Wolfy from an artist that seems to no longer have any sort of online presence, and I quickly decided the weird mutant wolfdog would make a great new buddy for Skunk Boy as I was still recovering from the loss of my own dog about a year prior. There was a bit of backstory about Wolfy being a mischievous mutt that changed owners a few times before Skunk Boy became his new chew toy and victim of his various antics, but I never really explored that in any detail. Suffice to say, Wolfy gets along very well with his half-skunk demihuman manchild owner, even if "owner" seems to only apply in the loosest of senses--they're more like two halves of a complete idiot, and on various occasions I have considered indulging my love of cartoon role-reversal by drawing Wolfy walking Skunk Boy on a leash, or otherwise treating Skunk Boy like a pet, but for some reason I just never actually follow through with it.

I imagine him being a lot like Scooby-Doo in some ways, definitely sapient even if his ability to speak is quite limited, if not a bit "off" by human standards at times and far more "feral" than "anthro" in his behaviors and mannerisms.

His weight seems to fluctuate a bit between drawings of him, too, his occasional weight gain likely corresponding to a decrease in the number of stray cats in the neighborhood.

Very glad you like it! Problem is, "two halves of a complete idiot" also describes Skunk Boy and Tex fairly well, too!
