Fast-moving hovercars are fun as hell.

During the transitional stages to hover vehicles, be they powered by repulsorlift, anti-gravity or something a bit more like hovercraft technology on Earth, existing vehicles might find themselves converted into hovercars by enthusiasts, thrill-seekers, hobbyists, and other early adopters. Such conversion mods vary based on the technology available, but all share one similarity, the conversion of an existing conventional vehicle into an exciting hover vehicle. As the technology progresses, more old conventional vehicles might find themselves upgraded to make use of the new hover tech, as it might be cheaper (and more environmentally friendly) to just recycle those boring old wheeled vehicles.

While the Geoterrans aren't as heavily reliant on technology as many of their other interstellar neighbors, they do have the technology for hovercar conversion mods as well.
Sawyer here has given an old beat-up roadster a new lease on life by slapping on some thrusters and repulsor jets. Right now, it's in a resting position, resting on its landing pads, but when it's time to jet, those repulsorjet assemblies that reside roughly where the wheels used to be angle downwards, lifting the vehicle about half a meter off the ground.
