Decided I finally needed to draw one of these guys that's not a criminal, a degenerate, or an infant...

The Jeroban are a race of vaguely jerboa-like sapient creatures, native to a desert planet. Their race has expanded to several other worlds in their stellar neighborhood over the centuries, and made contact and formed alliances with a few other races in that time, and this collective of colony worlds and allied worlds came to be known as the Cygnian Federation. They are typically fairly slender, and despite being omnivorous their diets usually consist entirely of plant matter, things Earthlings would recognize as fruits, vegetables, grains and nuts making up the majority of their foodstuffs in most cases. They are adapted to life in the rocky, rugged deserts of their homeworld, and their colony worlds tend to also be desert planets as well. They are fast, agile creatures with strong legs, and quite adept at what humans would describe as "parkour", as being able to jump and climb over rugged desert terrain is a quite useful trait. This also translates to their military strategy, combining powerful energy weapons with decent body armor and their agility makes Jeroban infantry quite formidable in combat, as they are very mobile and difficult to get a bead on under many circumstances.

By nature they are also very adaptable and flexible, and can survive and even thrive in a variety of conditions by virtue of making use of their physical abilities in new ways to conquer new environments. Aside from their agility, they can also get by on relatively small amounts of food and water for extended periods, and have sharp senses of hearing, sight, and smell. This makes them natural survivalists, and quite adept at adapting to different environments, although they do struggle to adapt to extremely cold temperatures even with extra layers of clothing.
This carries over to much of their technology, where tried-and-true tech that is adaptable and modifiable for a variety of conditions and uses is favored over specialized equipment, especially when it comes to their vehicle design. Their most common vehicle type is the Vega V-Series Transport, a vaguely van-like small spacecraft that can be modified to fill a variety of roles ranging from family van to shuttle to cargo transport to military gunship--a rugged, adaptable and hardy vehicle worthy of the rugged, adaptable and hardy race that uses it.

In descriptions for previous art, this race was referred to as "Longtails" or "Cygnian Longtails", and both terms are still acceptable and generally used by members of other races from off-world to describe them, although "Jeroban" is the proper species name.

This example is a typical Jeroban citizen, a working-class individual and most likely a farmer. With the homeworld's population exceeding 5 billion individuals, and access to advanced technology, most of their farming is done in factory farming complexes with artificial climate control and the like, but smaller farms are still common sights in and around the various smaller villages and settlements outside of the supercities.
