Her original characterization had her as a farmer's daughter who spent most of her time working on the farm, when she wasn't studying veterinary science as a possible career.
However, I decided that with the number of young child characters I have, little babies only a few short years away from entering kindergarten, it might be time to get some teachers in my cast instead, and what better animal for the job than one that is stereotyped as ignorant and stubborn? Gotta love subverting those cliches...
