Is That a Challenge? (2014)

LordDominic

2014 art. Stephanie Wuick, a fighter character of mine that I drew often in 2014-2015 but hasn't received much attention since.

Description from the original submission page:

Stephanie Wuick is ready to stand her ground against any opponent foolish enough to challenge her. Don't let her stout build fool you-despite only standing about 5'4", she is one of the strongest fighters in any of my storylines, and made even more effective by her skill with energy-based attacks.

Despite how much I like Stephanie, I don't seem to draw her often enough, especially in her battle gear. As a result, I have few good references for her and she tends to have a somewhat inconsistent look from drawing to drawing, which honestly frustrates me a bit. Her armor design is always undergoing minor tweaks and I draw it slightly differently each time, although the general aesthetic remains the same. However, I do think this is going to be her "definitive" style moving forward.
This time, her armor includes elbow and knee guards. Considering her fighting style, that added armor would be beneficial both in protecting her and for adding a little extra punch to her already powerful elbow and knee strikes. While she does have shoulder guards for her armor, she usually forgoes them for the sake of flexibility. Due to her very hands-on fighting style, her armor takes a lot of abuse, and as a result is the stock black color and lacks any sort of identifying tags, insignia, rank markings, etc.

Rambling about the color of energy attacks in my universe a bit: the color generally denotes the behavior of the attack. Red and orange generally act more like bombs, they are a bit slower moving and explosive, with quite a bit of radiating blast damage when they hit a target. They generally take the form of orbs. On the other hand, blue and purple generally behave more like bullets, as they are more focused, and they tend to penetrate targets rather than exploding on impact. Blue and purple energy attacks are usually beams or "energy bolts".
