Another main character in my fantasy universe.

When a horrid plague swept through the Kingdom of Andon, the humans were forced to look for help anywhere they could find it. They turned to the Korvolk, who were largely unaffected by the deadly sickness, to provide assistance. Though reluctant to give up a portion of their neutrality, the lizard-men of the swamp decided to help their neighbors by sending many of their kin to serve as physicians, surgeons, undertakers, vicars, et cetera. These Korvolk emissaries among the humans of Andon are referred to collectively as "Laeches," regardless of their specific duties.

This particular laech is a doctor. If one thing can be said about him, it's that he is indeed an optimist, though one hardened by his experiences caring for the terribly ill. He lives alone and tries to focus on his work, but the racial tension and civil unrest in the city, combined with his own restlessness, make it difficult to keep a clear conscience.
