Murrin Road, Intro by LexyBadKitty

Murrin Road, Intro

Murrin Road, Pawington-Muchley, London, how did we end up back here again?
Lexy stood hunched and huddled by a billboard, rain streaking down, sometimes blowing down Murrin Road in waves, his fur matting where the moisture penetrated, droplets resting on his whiskers, breathing heavily he looked at the gleam of shining rails before him, and as he took a step out from the end of the road he could hear the hum of the vibrating steel. He was thinking, oh so tired of thinking, was this it, was he giving up? The road began to glow, lights reflecting off of rain glazed cobbles, a truck pulled up, something go thrown out, and then the lights swung away and the sound of its engine died out softly, muffled into the darkness.

Lexy had stopped, stuck in the headlights, his eyes a sea of green with his pupils reducing to the thinnest slits, and as they returned to normal he could see the object writhing around. "What in the...?" thought Lexy, but his trail of thought was interrupted by the loud sound of a diesel train pulling into its own dead end. He walked slowly towards whatever it was, the rain really was running through his clothes, it felt like it was pouring through his soul, could it cleanse him? He stood two foot away and looked down, in the faint orange glow of a distant streetlamp he saw a familiar shape, except for its lumpy looking end, he recognised a feline figure, he leaned down and saw whoever it was had been beaten, bloodied, tied up and had a sack over their head. He reached his paw slowly down "Just a little further..."

Lexy's paw gripped the corner of the bag, its coarse material felt cold and rough against his touch, it was now or never, and he tugged at the bag ‘til it came off. He gasped at the sight that lay there, another cat, bruised and black eyed, but still breathing. What could he do? Should he run?
He whipped out a claw and cut the ties around the boy, and taking off his jacket he wrapped it over the boy’s body, and struggling greatly he heaved up the bloody mess onto his shoulder and carried him as best he could but it was more like dragging, until they reached a dingy staircase made of rusting metal. He put every ounce of remaining strength into pulling the body up. Soon he was kicking into the room and turning on the light, and he pulled the mess onto the sofa. As he leaned over to the boy’s chest to hear for his heartbeat he started to feel how cold the rain had made him, he shivered and as he did so the boy woke up, Lexy went to look up at the sound of breathing but something connected with the side of his face....now he was out cold.

Ok so I've started writing a story based in a ficitional london borough, by coincidence I am making a model railway layout in the same location. I'm not sure where the story is going but I'd imagine life for Lexy on Murrin Road is sure about to change.

Anyhoo here is the first part, hope people think its ok, any feedback is welcome, if anyone reads this :p

I don't where this is going either but I love your street sign, and 'Pawington-Muchley' made me chuckle. I will certainly follow along!
