Arka are a species of genetically engineered anthropeople common throughout the Bele-Miriet galaxy (which is largely the fault of the Hypothesis Conglomerate, while we're being perfectly truthful).
They tend to end up banding together in groups to fend for themselves out in the wilds; successful ones tend to make use of the natural resources around them to build dens and shelters against the elements and native beasts.

The arka themselves are actually pretty subtle here; they're inside the den, while heitenes stalk around outside and a zeppelian flies past overhead.
