So what started off as a warm up sketch of Brooklyn ( yes that gargoyle ) before a little RP fun with Danji unexpectedly ended up becoming something entirely different.... which is the first sketch of Charlie, the clever charizard buddy of Vinnie!
Charlie breaks the mould a little with him being a far more taller more toned and thinner charizard as well as leaning into the intellectual or nerdy type but even with him being more on the quiet side he can really get excited and into things if it's something he knows.... plus he can still throw down with the other 'mons if need be ( and has for fun since ya know Vinnie... ) even if it's not his shtick as he's there for his friends no matter what.
Also some might see that he has retained a few aspects of his previous evolution, ie the little head bump, It's not really known why but Charlie suspects that since he was kind of a “late bloomer” he had some issues with his evolution and made it like 95% of the way there as such he wears a necklace with a small fire stone shard in it as a confidence booster.

As for how the sketchings went I first off tried to draw Brooklyn ( not pictured ) from memory and that looked well a bit like a charizard and well then I was like "ok this looks more like a.... OH Charlie!" and then I tried to draw charizard from memory and that's why the head bump was there I totally forgot it was a charmeleon only thing only, but it seemed to really fit him and give him that extra difference.
Also going left to right you can see the little bit of the evolution, heh, there of how Charlie came out. Still pretty fond of the lower set there with how soft and friendly the 2 of those mid sketches look.


This was a real blast to get another of the 'mons out, heck now Vinnie has his closest buddy drawn! Now just have to get Charlie that full body pose. As for the rough of Brooklyn this was supposed to be eeehhhh drawing him from memory turned out not so hot and might try him again later, for now enjoy!
