An 8x10 masonite panel painted with acrylic for a friend of Cyrakhis. Buzzle is a Pineapple Green-Cheeked Conure, and a total sweetheart.
I completely fell in love with acrylic painting again after I found a way to retard the drying process, and was able to blend colors much more easily. I had purchased a Sta-Wet palette that will store acrylics wet in a lidded container, and lengthens the drying time even while the lid is removed. Freaking adore it, and I highly recommend it to acrylic painters!
I am REALLY happy with this painting, and I really surprised myself with how well it turned out. Flat brushes are really awesome for painting feathers, I've found! Also, I have to openly admit that I was thinking of Nambroth's acrylic works while doing this, so if there are glaring similarities (like that artsy circle), that is why. I would love to work with acrylics more, so if people were wanting a colored traditional piece, this is one way to go!
