The fear of deep, dark, murky water.
I've always had this phobia, something about dark water is just so triggering and terrifying. Even in videogames and movies, I have to look away, (I've had to ask my husband do several quests for me on Skyrim because I cant stand looking at the water.)
So I thought I would try to draw this phobia as a means of overcoming it.
Needless to say, it didn't help lol. My heart was racing and I was on edge the whole time while drawing this urgh.
I have similar problems with deep water; it's not terribly uncommon. It is rare to overcome a fear by sudden shock and exposure, gradual desensitization works best. If you do try or have tried to overcome this fear again, I wish you luck.
All that aside, this is a great piece. The palette choice in particular really evokes that foggy, disorienting haze of shallow-water silt, and the arrangement of plants is instantly recognizable. You may be off-put by the environment, but you've captured it very well.

The idea that you drew this though you fear it is amazing to me, I wish I could do something similar but I don't think I could ;n;
