The Hoofening by LaurenRivers

The Hoofening

LaurenRivers

Topaz was being chased as she attempted to avoid being caught. She had taken the equine amulet from the upper levels and put it on, only to find out it was changing her... Shocked, she attempted to pull it off, but it had tightened around her neck and would not slip over her head. She began to panic as her hoof tore out of her left shoe and made a loud clank on the metal floor that alerted security to her presence. She attempted to maintain her composure, not easy while your body was changing with every second that passed as well as the imminent danger of being caught.

She attempted to run as best she could in this transforming body, knowing she was only leading them after her with every clank of her hooves on the floor. She still had her paws, if only she could get inside her room, she could find a way to reverse this! Topaz found it harder with every step to stand upright, her legs and spine changing to force her onto all fours. She fought the impulse to rest her paws on the ground and walk like a horse. Despite her best efforts to fight the power of the amulet, it would not be denied.

She felt her feline heritage slipping away, her whiskers disappering and her body more horse than cat. Topaz was less than a yard away from her door as she struggled to remember her door code. What was it? She ran the number through her head and cursed as it escaped her. Desperate and hearing voices come ever closer, she tapped what she guessed was her access code into the keypad. BZZT! Access denied! She cursed and tried again. Before she could attempt a third try, she felt her paws stiffen and merge into forehooves. Her clothes hung on her body, nearly at the breaking point as Lauren arrived with security.

"I can explain." Topaz whinnied.
