The Kalanova is the rifle, and the '64 isn't in our word's history...
Mouse girl finds antique Kalanova '64 rifle in post-apocalypse
type world. i'll post the original drawing and comment more on story then...
Colouring finished in Jan '10. Okay, this one took forever to colour. The drawing was from ten or more years ago. The colour was bit by bit, set it aside for a few months, add or change a bit...It's been done for a month or so, but i still wasn't sure if something else wouldn't jump at me that called out to be changed...
Sort of strange deciding on what pics to post first here...i don't seem to have a strategy, at least one i'm fully aware of....hmmmm....
If your monitor isn't balanced the darks and lights on this won't read well. Or try down loading it and using the slide-show setting to get rid of bright white areas on the screen...

It's rare to see a vintage bolt-action rifle model with a pistol grip. It certainly does look unique in this regard. The mouse girl kind of looks like Gadget Hawkwrench from Rescue Rangers, are you a fan of the show, by any chance? Good work, btw. The stylizaton is pretty nice.
Good on seeing the anachronisms in the rifle design - that's an intentional design. Although i don't have a story about her i do have a sort of world in which most of my characters exist, set in the far future, and their tech has been trickled down from our past in odd ways. i had seen a couple episodes of the Chip and Dale series before this, but not ones with Gadget - it is an old drawing. The main influence here is Vaughn Bode and Moebius, a bit of Steve Gallachi , Terrie Smith, and Michele Light. Old school. It has been noted she looks a bit like ShoNuff's Squeek, but again, hadn't seen his work when i did this. Common influences all around.
