So, I was looking through an old journal on my old account that was 100 themes to draw and I saw two separate themes that were light and dark. So I decided to merge them and do a lighting practice kind of thing. Also, I wanted to show how the lighting can change the entire feel of something.

Both head shots are the exact same line art, and both were coloured using the same colours. The one on the left is soft lighting, which took me FIVE FUCKING HOURS, even though just shy of every picture I've ever coloured has been with soft lighting from above. The right is hard lighting from below, which took only an hour an a half. Forty five minutes of that time was spent out for smokes and browsing Tumblr. You can't explain that.
