Vokka Plushie by Kov

Vokka Plushie

Kov

A plush little effigy of Vokka Vokka I made as a christmas gift <3

Took me a fair few hours as I tried to capture as much detail of his character as possible, all sewn together by my $25 op-shop Janome.

The pattern I used was created by Klickitat and Matrices of North Sound Collective, and is available for non-commercial use Here

Well done. Having made some non-furry regalia for an 1800's frontier traders/renezvous group, I have some idea of the time/labor involved in doing something like this.

      Funny you mention that,

My pre-furry crafting background was in LARP armours for myself
machine-sewing polar fleece is a holiday compared to hours of lacing hand-cut lamellar plates together.

Picture a send-hand (cheap) 1960's vintage Singer sewing machine. Now try wrestling 3 layers of canvas on it to create a period diamond shelter 12ft by 12ft and listen to it whine 'cause it's not designed to handle heavy canvas, never mind multiple layers (double-folded over seam). I impressed the local sewing machine repair shop when I brought in the sewing machine for repair. Canvas shifted on me as I was sewing--somehow I drove the needle (a #16) through the throat plate. I didn't think that was possible. You'd think the needle would break first. :)

          Um SECOND-hand, not send-hand. (chuckle)
