Or so says Koda.

In his world, domestic felines are the civilized, the city dwellers, the ones who love all the formality and intrigues of courts and their dances both physical and political. Koda's sort are considered somewhat barbaric, the equivalent of Vikings. He's got excellent manners, so he's seen as sort of the noble savage type, which amuses him. Kendra hates the courtly gossip and pettiness, which is why she likes Koda and trusts him. As an outsider, he doesn't participate in that.

Many conversations with Kendra have been had about his opinion that deep down, her sort, the civilized domestics, are the same as him. They're both cats, the domestics have just so suppressed their instincts.

He's bemusedly urged her to try putting away the trappings of civilization for a few hours, just run through the forest, hunt with nothing but claws as he does, even climb a tree for the sheer joy of it.

it would be utterly scandalous for a domestic to be seen doing that, but...it looks like she's tentatively giving it a try, claws out and all!

...And probably thinking "Koda, if ANYONE sees me..."
