My cover of They Might Be Giants' song Someone Keeps Moving My Chair
I'm not done... I'm going to add some more instrumentation, re-do the main vocals (standing while performing) & add some backup vox, and add in a few more synth/organ sounds to distinguish the chorus vs verse.
But it's far-enough along that I want to get some feedback and also I'm just excited about how it's turning out I don't want to wait. :D

Thank you!
I never really got into the Mountain Goats. I loved their lo-fi/diy-home-recording thing, but i haven't listened to them since the early 2000's, when their music seemed to come from a really dark and negative place. That turned me off a lot back then. Maybe I should give them a re-listen.
By contrast, what I love about TMBG is their incredible musicianship and how much mileage and range they seem to get out of being whimsical and stream-of-consciousness-oriented.
I see :u I started listening to them a few months ago, downloaded everything they've made since All Hail West Texas, and BOY let me tell you, Tallahassee, We Shall All Be Healed and Sunset Tree are incredible god damn albums.
Tallahassee is very negative, but also really... fun? Like, it has this sense of power to the songs where it's not JUST sad, it's also sort of violent. The other two are chiller though.
btw Tallahasse, while it does talk about a failed marriage, it isn't about the singer's marriage, but a fictional couple called by the fanbase as the Alpha Couple, a pair of people who refuse to give up on each other despite the relationship being nothing but toxic and awful
Man! I love this track. You make me wanna listen to all of the TMBG to really dig songwriting.
I look forward to hearing your completed version, although this one does sound pretty far along already. :)
