Wind Up (critique requested)

Wrote this pretty quickly, done in a day. This may be a preview for a longer song, or maybe it's nice as it is and would just be an intro or transitional track in an album. Let me know what you guys think. <3

Well, that was good! I imagine it as background music for a title screen, like when you choose you character before the game starts, but this is prolly just because I'm weird. Anyway, I'm listening to it now it in infinite loop, so let's see if until the end of the night it starts causing me hallucinations. 8D

(By the way, as I was writing this, I noticed that watch is Russian. That's some interesting shit.)

Woah, hello Cryllic writing. I totally didn't even notice that before. :o

I'm glad you're getting some milage out of that track. I almost don't want to do anything else to this song, but I'll probably come back to it and give it another movement or two.

Oh, you're the SECOND of 2 people to feel that it belongs in a game as a menu screen bgm. Maybe I'm the weird one after all. <3

I like the chord progression! Nice bass sound. The first time it plays through, I could see something puzzle-game-like. The second play-through added a great melody line that .. for some reason .. made me think of Phantasy Star Online. Nice spacy feel and layering. Minor critique: fade out is too long ;)

Hehe, i've always had a hard time figuring out how long to make fade-outs. I happen to like long fades, but it's nice to have a reality check. :3 It IS pretty long... what-chu think, maybe half as long?

Thanks for the compliments, I actually have two bass tracks in there: Kontakt's music man bass sound, and my own playing (which is way less solid in tempo). Neither one on its own had the punch i liked, but both together kept the human feel but held down the beat at the same time. I think I'll be doing that more often, blending two bass tracks.

I'll go check out some PSO to see what may have brought up that comparison.

having a couple of 808 sounds thrown in there makes it similar to bo en. this is a very neat track, i like how everything interacts with each other. i could definitely see this in a lobby or puzzle thing, it's very suspended-intensity
