Posting a regular noodle session.
I figure since ppl enjoy seeing artists' doodles, maybe some of you would like to hear a musician's noodles.
Part 3 of the chopped up recording.
I'm using an EQ pedal to pump 1k up around +15dB and -12dB at 10k, so it produces this really round, smooth, clear and jazzy kind of tone.
Also I'm using compression before the EQ, and there's a little digital delay pedal in there after the EQ to give a li'l atmosphere.
Nothing post-processed, it's all pedals. Recorded direct into the computer.
Here I turn on the TC Electronic Dark Matter DIstortion pedal, still on the neck pickup, to see what happens to my tone. I thought it would come across as fizzy, thin, and otehrwise unpleasant in this context.
Instead it gave my tone a slightly fuzz-pedal kind of feeling, but without a horrendously raspy set of overtones. This distortion pedal can do subtle really well, and I would absolutely use this kind of tone for this context and other contexts~
