Suspicion came from around the bend
and it tapped me on the shoulder
I heed your warning, but I'm sorry friend
this is exactly what I want
Tigers are as irresistible as they are dangerous. But that is not so terrible, if you're into that sort of thing. Painted for Kenket, my tiger muse.
Those of you who hung out in my stream throughout the night/wee hours last night will remember this one! Another watercolor exercise with a limited palette, based on one made famous by Diego Velázquez. Notably, he kept to a pretty small color selection throughout his career, despite the availability of more pigments, and broader color choices by his peers. I also tried to take a cue from Walton Ford's (gigantic) watercolor paintings of animals in dubious entanglements, but that is probably less apparent. Needs more birds and snakes.
