I found a bunch of old and used (and very dirty/stained) Funko vinyl figures at a flea market a little while ago. The vinyl never cleans very well when it is excessively stained and dirty, it tends to absorb into the vinyl...so I have chosen to repaint the figures and give them new life since they are unable to keep their original collectible state anymore.
I think the Funko vinyl here is one of the "Game of Thrones" figures, but I am not certain. It was really badly stained and scratched up all along the back-side. I modified it into a feral form of my Despair Dog, Wabi. The second figurine is actually one of Rose Art's "Color Blanks" plastic figure...a kids item meant for coloring and decorating with markers...so it is done with markers.
Funko vinyl and Color Blanks belong to their companies, Wabi and repaints done by me.
I use craft paint...you can usually buy small bottles of these at Wal-Mart for about 75-cents (each bottle). Sometimes it takes 2 coats to make it smooth as possible. It can take days to do one figure though...depending how many colors you have in it. I usually do one color per day, letting each color dry completely. I also just use cheap brushes, like the kinds you can buy for kids. :)
If there are accessory parts, like here...the horns and wings...I try to think of what best would be used for them. Here I chose craft foam (wings) and air-dry clay (the horns...I have cheap Crayola clay). To attach them both, I used permanent foam craft dots--all of these can usually be found in a crafting aisle at Wal-Mart, and usually at a fairly inexpensive price. :)
