Using this particular "Design-A-Pony" figure base: http://www.amazon.com/My-Little-Pony-Design-A-Pony-Princess/dp/B00B0LP0WG/ref=sr_1_1?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1418923568&sr=1-1&keywords=my+little+pony+design-a-pony+princess+luna+figure
...I custom painted these "Sailor Moon" themed ponies for me and a very good friend of mine (for her birthday). I find painting these figures fun and relaxing. The figure on the left is a custom based upon Sailor Pluto, her favorite Sailor Senshi...the figure on the right is a personal custom paint of Eternal Sailormoon, my favorite design of Usagi's form.
I do not do this for profit. I make them as gifts, if I can find the bases (they're really hard to come by anymore around where I live) and have the paints. I use craft acrylic paints for the colors...though I initially spray-paint coat the original figure base with a white paint. It makes the color painting a LOT easier...originally I'd have to use about 7 coats of color paint to cover the original base color and the star/heart markings all over it, by prepping the base with a white spraypaint I only need to use two coats. On the Sailor Pluto Pony I used some scrapbooking stickers for decorative enhancement...and on both I used some self-stick jewels for decoration. Fine details, such as the eyes and all, were done with permanent markers or paint markers.
Habsro created the MLP franchise and this particular figure base, I merely painted it for fun and relaxation.
