From my sketchbook that works well with markers.

An old fantasy/sci-fi story character of mine...Curtis Smith. A normal guy, with a normal life...which is turned upsidedown when his new wife is murdered by no reason by a "mafia-like" group. But this "family" are aliens commonly called the "Dragonkin"...and Curtis' grandfather seems to know all about them. I don't often draw men with tons of jewelry (it's a pain), but every ring and earring and necklace he is wearing is made of an alien metal and allows Curtis to control some sort of "life energy"...making him the perfect weapon to hunt down the Dragonkin and find out why they killed his wife.

Character belongs to me.

It's really hard to find scanners anymore. I don't recommend the ones that are printer-scanners...and real scanners are expensive. So lots of artists use cameras nowadays. I bought mine about 10 years ago, when they were easy to find and not expensive.

Printer-scanners are okay (and cheap), but I'd recommend that you have a photo-editing program that can alter colors if you need to. They tend to scan super-bright for me.....! laughs
