watercolors: Sunflower by keirajo

Back in October, I was also doing other artwork besides Inktober things--mostly on my weekends where I had both Saturday and Sunday off (instead of my Friday/Sunday off rotation, which is an every other week deal). I was practicing more on watercolor things--trying stuff, doing stuff.........all that.

I'll post two today and two tomorrow. :)

This is actually Master's Touch watercolors (Hobby Lobby's house brand) on Master's Touch watercolor paper. The Master's Touch watercolors have a different thickness on the brush than the Koi watercolors I have generally been using--read this as, most colors are darker. So, when trying to make lighter colors, I have to use LOTS of white (and water) to "pale it out" a bit. The brand is really good for solid and thick looking colors, though--and it dries pretty fast. The Master's Touch paper (this was a 4x6 size) was of a smaller or narrower pattern/texture than the Bee Paper or Strathmore that I have used in the past--which I think works well with the thicker and more solid colors.

Sunflower on watercolor paper. By me. :)

      Thanks so much! :D

This was the first "small texture" I've seen in any watercolor paper, so it was neat to try out--I was surprised to see it in a store's own "house brand", too. :)

I received this character as a gift from a friend I knew back on FA and still chat with over on Toyhou.se (they're the one who gave me the TH invite)......they used to go by KingOfMaggots on many sites for many years and have changed their name on many places, but I know they go by DeerMilky now on TH. They no longer had any use for the character and couldn't sell it, so I was pleased to receive such an amazing gift character. :D
