A sketch concept for Cai's half way stage. I've change a few details on his character, most notably that he has a couple of ear piercings , his ear on the left side has a tear in it at the same height, where the other set was pulled out during one transformation. He also has a little chinny chin beard which I think I will keep. I'm really not usually fond of beards but I think I might make an exception here :la:

I wanted to design a mid way point that could be attractive, mostly human, but not just a kemonomimi, wolf ears and a tail. I would love feed back to see if you guys think that succeeded at all. I mean my idea of "attractive" is also a bit skewed, since I like furries and not everyone does. I wanted it to kinda work even if ya didn't, and also to not make him look too furry either.
In my brain the first things to change are his eyes, lightening to a gold and the sclera turning black, then ears begin to extend an point a bit, nose extends and starts to darken at the end then the end also gets larger and more canine, his scar will also begin to show up more throughout the transformation since the scar is his wolfs, not his. Although you can't see it here his teeth point and become more canine, and his tongue flattens. His hair gets a little longer, over the change and extends down the back some. Below what you can see here he doesn't naturally have much chest hair but that becomes far more of a thing, with decent chest hair/fur and happy trail. He would also have a tail at this point, although not at full length or fully furred. Any damage to his tail will migrate back into his back when he changes back to a more human form. His nails are a bit longer and sharper, and far thicker and stronger than normal human nails, there is beginnings of fur/hair on his arms and legs(he really is pretty hairless normally for a dude), and his feet are becoming somewhat more digitigrade.

His personality also changes some as he transforms, as I have mentioned before he and his wolf have separate personalities, although linked and aware of each other. They have simultaneous influence and the more wolf like he becomes the more the wolf will effect his personality. His wolf is a very arrogant alpha male type as well as being far more changable in mood. Cai is naturally much more reserved, and more inclined to planning than doing. He can infact be rather prone to anxiety over small issues although he keeps that well to himself. He is still fully in control at this point but the wolfs feelings and wants will effect his own. Not forcing him to do things but certainly making him far more inclined to do them.
Its strenuous on him (and all werewolves in his universe) to fully repress their wolf all the time. It takes at least some focus and constant restraint. If he is relaxing at home or in a secluded place with his pack members you are likely to see them in varying levels of transformation, allowing themselves to relax some and allow their wolf's some influence.

I've decided to name this universe The Witch and The Wolf TW 2x for short, this may not be a functional name to ever actually become a comic (although I would love to do something with them properly, i'm content to just doodle characters for now and make up more stories and expand the lore etc) I feel I need something to differentiate Th 2X werewolves (and any other supernaturals) from the werewolves like Crys from Brightest Black, since they are very different in lore and how they work definitely not from the same universe ideas.

I'm going to make him a proper reference some time but thats gonna be a long term project, there is a lot of information to be included and at minimum 2 full body references I need to make front and back for, most likely I will be using 3 and then who knows how many head and other details shots since he has quite a bit :v
Thats the main reason Crys doesn't have a reference yet either although I've already figured out all her details.
