The Corporation has grown so vast that even its own executives don't entirely know who's in charge anymore. Rumors perpetually surround the Overlord; no one knows for sure whether she's merely a high-ranking exec, or if she really is the true power behind the Board. One thing is certain, however; no one dares challenge her, because to do so is to risk the attention of the thing stalking the shadows surrounding her. Almost no data exists on the Overlord's guardian, a creature codenamed Bane.

Bane is said to be the sole surviving result of Project Tiamat, a secret Corporation venture that supposedly attempted to resurrect the ancient predators of the Pleistocene and integrate them with nanotech. One thing is certain, however: those foolish enough to cross Bane's path have a habit of...disappearing.
