A Well-Rounded Deck by Joat

The young man opened the door and took the small package inside. He was an avid fan of Yu-Gi-Oh, but had never actually played the game itself. He’d always wanted to try, though. And now, he had the chance. He’d ordered this deck a couple days ago. The seller had, in the description, assured him that this deck would help him get into the game. And now, it was time to open it.

...Except, to his shock, inside the box was not a deck. Instead, it was only one card, along with a pooltoy nozzle. First, he wondered why in the world there was a pooltoy nozzle in there. Was it there to taunt him? But secondly, he wondered why in the world there was a Parrot Dragon card in the box? Even if this were a taunt, it’d be a very odd choice of card to taunt with. The Parrot Dragon card was definitely nothing special. Cute, sure, but in game terms it was a rather poor card. But it wasn’t exactly taunt-level poor. If they seller wanted to taunt him, they’d have gone with a much worse card. So, why was this card included?

The third question that came to mind was, where did the nozzle go? It was in the box a moment ago, when he set it down. It couldn’t have possibly fallen out. So, where did it go? Though this was replaced with a fourth question: Why did he care? It was a random pooltoy nozzle, after all. It’d probably turn up, but even if it didn’t, he had no reason to care about losing it.

But that was soon replaced, in turn, with a fifth question: Why did he have such an odd feeling in his belly? He rested a hand on his belly, soon realizing that this phenomenon was more mysterious than he thought, as his belly felt softer than it should have been. Yet there was also a hard lump where his bellybutton should be.

He rushed over to the mirror and lifted his shirt, discovering a truly bizarre answer to his third and fifth questions. The missing nozzle was now on his belly and, where before it had been closed, it was now wide open. In fact, he could hear air rushing out of it. Except, no... when he placed his hand near the nozzle, it felt like the air was rushing into it, not out. It was rushing right into his belly, which now was turning to a lighter shade, a soft cream color. But more oddly, it was also turning shiny and smooth, with dark brown horizontal lines forming on it, as if they were painted on.

He rubbed his chest as it, too, began changing to a more smooth, shiny material, with the same color and pattern. His chest squeaked he rubbed it. Combined with the nozzle on his bellybutton... was he becoming a pooltoy? Indeed, he was certainly looking the part, as the changes spread from his belly and chest, around to the rest of his torso. However, unlike his belly and chest, the rest was changing to a green coloration, just as squeaky and shiny. He turned around, craning his neck to watch in the mirror as his back was covered in squeaky green.

He felt something pressing at the back of his pants from within, so he lowered the back of it, watching something small, green, and pointed form above his hind. As it grew longer, he noticed that he could move it at will, and just like his belly the bottom of it was cream-colored with dark lines. And when it was fully-formed, it was clear what this was: It was a tail. His new tail.

He was worried and confused, but also quite curious, as he waved the tail around. But as he did so, he absent-mindedly let go of his pants, letting them fall to the floor. In doing so, he discovered that he no longer had anything to hide. His hips, hind, and everything else in that area had also been changed into this smooth, squeaky substance. And seeing the parts of himself that had changed so far, he couldn’t help but suspect he knew what he was becoming. A quick glance at the card confirmed it: He was definitely becoming a pooltoy Parrot Dragon.

Except, then he noticed something else, once he placed his hand on his belly. It was farther out than it was before. His belly was larger now than it had been before as a human. In fact, looking back at the card, it seemed a bit larger than the Parrot Dragon depicted on the card. If he was becoming one, why was he belly getting larger than a Parrot Dragon’s?

Soon after that observation, he noticed his legs starting to change, from the top down. They were shortening a fair bit, becoming a fair bit thicker, and of course plenty shinier, adopting the same smooth green as much of his body was now covered in. He rested his hand on his gradually-growing belly, definitely much larger around than a normal Parrot Dragon’s now, as he pulled off his socks, watching his human feet turn into fairly large, green hindpaws. At the end of each of those paws formed three large claws. Were he a real Parrot Dragon, perhaps they would have been menacing. But his pooltoy claws were too blunt to be any threat, simply making him look cuter.

He noticed his belly had grown enough now that it was touching the mirror. He backed away a bit, watching as the transformation spread down his arms, reshaping them significantly, forming them into squeaky pooltoy wings. He gave them a couple test flaps. With these new wings and his light weight from becoming a pooltoy, he’d probably be able to fly easily now... if not for his big, squeaky belly getting in the way. Plus, it may be difficult to get out of his room at this point, as he’d have a hard time squeezing through his doorway or window and his belly was only getting bigger and bigger.

He rubbed his bloated belly with his wings, listening to the pleasant squeaking. Much as everything about this was unusual, he couldn’t deny that it was also very comfortable. And it was not done yet, as the transformation proceeded up his neck. On the sides of his cheeks formed shapes roughly resembling a tuft of feathers sticking out. His eyes grew larger, the irises turning blue, and as much of the rest of his head was being covered in green, two lines of orange “feathers” formed atop his head. Then finally, his nose and mouth reshaped themselves, forming into a large, squeaky, air-filled hooked beak.

At that point, he was beginning to lose his balance. His large belly was making it difficult for him to stay standing. It was no longer growing, his nozzle now having closed itself, but his belly was large enough that he decided to just go ahead and let himself roll onto his big, round belly, resting on it like a bed. A big, squeaky, soft bed. He felt weightless, and indeed he nearly was, being filled with quite a lot of air. He felt comfortable, freed from the aches and pains of his previous human body. And he felt quite adorable, in his new Parrot Dragon form.

And of course, he felt like this purchase had indeed gotten him more into the game than ever before.

A Well-Rounded Deck

Lately, I've been doing co-op writing streams with ArrogantKitsune. These streams, as of late, have been themed. Sometimes one theme, sometimes multiple. In this case, the theme were Yokai Watch (which I know nothing about), inflation, and Yu-Gi-Oh. During that stream, I was taking requests, but I ran out of requests before I ran out of steam. This is the result of me saying "screw it" and doing a story for myself, of a rather cute Yu-Gi-Oh inflation, thus satisfying the two themes I know anything about.
