Cyserelle by Caribou by Jehauri

Cyserelle by Caribou

Jehauri

I very rarely get adoptables (I've only done it twice before), but when I saw this cute autumn-loving hognose, she was so perfect I couldn't help myself. Art is by the talented and wonderful Caribou! Here's what she had to say in the original post:
"She is an albino western hognose who really likes fall. She loves cozy sweaters, sunflowers and HATS. I think she also likes naps and really hates if you laugh at her when she gets mad!!"

After I got her I looked into more info about hognoses, which only made her MORE adorable. When threatened, hognoses will expand their ribs like a cobra's hood (but without a hood, they just end up sort of... wide), but they will almost never bite- instead, they'll strike with a closed mouth, and if bonking you with their nose doesn't scare you away, they'll play dead. Awww!

I named her Cyserelle after cyser, a blend of cider and mead that is both a reference to her love of autumn and her pretty brown and pale golden coloration. I imagine she's a sweetheart who lives a quiet life, enjoys long slithers through the falling leaves, and gives out the best candy in the whole neighborhood every Halloween. Perhaps she's a grade school teacher, or a tour guide at a cider mill, or a reclusive author who writes cozy fall-themed mystery novels.
