        Well, it's because he's still supposed to be a "Self-Insert" of the Player, but in Skyward Sword and A Link Between Worlds, you see him clearly talking (in ALBW thanks to the "explaning"-gesture he makes a bunch of times), but there's no text-boxes, because you're supposed to fill in the text for yourself.
