Davu Nobles by JadeRavenwing

Davu Nobles

JadeRavenwing

The upper class of Davu Society is filled with Nobles, Aristocrats, and other powerful or influential land owners. They make up the smallest percentage of the population, and yet they have the most pull when it comes to affecting how society or the government is run. Bronzes and Golds make up this group, with the rare Brown sometimes being considered an Honorary Noble.

Honorary Nobles get almost all of the privileges of their parents except that they are not an eligible heir to their family's house. In the past Browns were culled from the clutches of Nobles, but with recent changes in laws culling is no longer allowed or socially acceptable. However, it is not unheard of for a family to abandon their child when no one is looking, especially if the family has reached their offspring limit and were hoping for a Bronze or Gold child.

Careful breeding over many generations has insured that no Bronze and Gold pairing will produce Green or Blue offspring... or at least, that is what the Nobles like to believe. Such births are few and far between, but there has been much unease regarding lower colors birthed from the upper ranks as of late. The ruling pair of current Davu society had a Green daughter hatch from their first clutch. Much to the surprise and horror of the populace they decided to keep her. She is aware that she is not a valid heir for the throne, but whispers and rumors run amok throughout the city. Some see it as a bad omen, others see it as the Queen's choice in mate having impure blood. Either way it has certainly caused a ripple of chaos, especially among the lower and middle classes.

The individual shown here is currently wearing a set of his casual clothes. He's currently quite disgruntled. Either his children have gotten into something they shouldn't have, his house maid said something inappropriate, or a friend arrived unannounced and he is irritated to have been caught in casual attire.

However, even his casual clothes show the colors of his house, which are likely orange and black, as well as the popularity of fur among the nobles. It is quite obvious that this Davu's favorite color is very likely blue. Fortunately for him it is not seen as taboo for the upper classes to wear colors below their rank.
