I'm torn about the changes they've already made and casting Statham as Jonas to be honest. I like Statham well enough as an action star but other than Spy he's not really shown that he can do much other than play a human killing machine or a parody of it. Somehow I fail to see Statham being able to pull off a traumatized, neurotic pilot turned scientist that only truly kicks ass when there' nothing left to do. The writers and director attached to the film also have me pretty worried about how well it's going to be made, their track record is mostly garbage with a few hidden gems from long ago in their resume.
