While I think that the original is actually better with the pose and angle, I do think that the new one has an improved quality overall :)

The outfit Jackson is wearing in this is their old ninja uniform before taking on the role of the chief's right hand. ( the uniform's colour is an indicator of the ninja's status )
Their hair and eyes do not actually glow, it's just for artistic effects :)
