Police Patrol Pup Training (pt. 2) (critique requested)

How2101

When devilwolf1984 volunteered for the city's new K-9 officer training program, this wasn't quite what he expected: a bunch of inflatable obstacle courses akin to those at a bounce house or birthday party, and not a canine in sight.

To make things more embarrassing, he had to wear a very ... odd uniform, to put it nicely: Thick, heavy latex boots that resembled cartoonish versions of canine paws, equally bulky rubber gloves that hindered more than helped, and a bright blue latex police vest that felt ... weirdly comforting, pressed tight and snug against his chest.

And finally, there was the headpiece.

Smooth, silky, and completely seamless, there were no eyeholes of any kind.

According to the training staff, it would help him to learn to rely on his other senses through the removal of his sight - as well as making him dependent on his team in the exercise that was about to proceed.

The goal was simple enough: navigate the inflatable obstacle course in front of him with the handicap of the dorky-looking, cumbersome, and sight-impeding costume, relying on his fellow trainees to tell him where to go.

Eamon sighed. Of course he happened to be the worst performer of the group - that's why he was getting this humiliating additional "training". According to the higher-ups, this weird exercise, so far, has had a 100% success rate in turning poor recruits into proud, powerful, and loyal K-9 officers.

The bunny didn't see how running through a children's inflatable course would magically transform him into a star candidate, but it was either this or being cut.

He needed the advertised benefits - a guaranteed place to stay, food and bedding taken care of, and a high wage to boot were just too good to pass up.

He needs this.

So with another sigh, Eamon swallowed his pride, placing the mask over his head and allowing the world to fade into a stuffy, sticky blackness.

The exercise was about to begin.
