Assisting the 'Barracuda II RDF' in Interception of Bombers and Fighters, the 'Barracuda III' is a mainline fighter with much more firepower to bear on enemy forces. When launched in the Space Battle of Kairn, the 'Barracuda III' was far more superior then the 'Fly' and 'Borom' Fighters it was pitted against. Killing/Wrecking all 12 with a loss of only 2 'Barracuda III's.

The 6/1 K/D ratio is due to the awesome maneuverability and firepower it bears on it's frame. Four 30mm Cannons and one 50mm Cannon make the gun arrangements, and a store of 8 AAM Missiles in the Nose. The maneuverability is due largely to the canard wings, and the great radar coverage provided by the Rear Radar Boom allow it to easily outmaneuver enemy fighters or missiles.
