The Clam IV was re-imagined as a transport and convoy escort, though as the combat needs vary between skirmishes, the Clam IV is designed to punch above it's class, and hold off attackers until it can send word to reinforcements to assist in defending the convoy. Utilizing new technology and advances in space combat, the Clam IV will be able to effectively counter any threats it may come across.

The Clam IV has some major upgrades, the biggest are near the warp drives, and these are the Warp Drive Stabilizers. four of them are included with the Clam IV and can resist up to four interdiction attempts. As well, the modular makeup of the ship allows for future improvements and refits.
