Mut by HereifAnywhere

His gaze would not leave the plate in front of him. It was covered from edge to edge in food, some he has never imagined. Mut had never seen such a sight. Mut heard someone coming towards the table, he covered his food and let out a growl. "Woo, calm down," the food thief said. "I'm not going to take your food away, I gave it to you." Mut stopped growling but he moved his plate closer to himself. The food thief sat across from him and started to eat. "You can eat too," He said. Slowly Mut began to eat, His sight was now fixed on the man across the table.

"Are you not used to eating with company?" Asked the food thief. "Or are you not used to getting food at all?" Mut didn't say a thing, he just ate and watched every movement of this man. "That is ok, I understand you don't trust me,"He said. The man introduced himself, Mut didn't hear his name or cared to learn it. It felt like forever for the man to stop telling his life story. Finally he finished with it but then started talking about how he found Mut. "I felt bad for you, the talking man said. "Here in front of me is a scrawny little thing growling and biting at everything that moved. It was far too young to really hurt anyone, but everyone was scared of it and threw things at it." The talking man stopped and looked at Mut. "What was he waiting for?
What did he want from me?" Mut thought. "If you haven't figured it out yet." The talking man started again. "I was talking about you." Mut didn't say anything he sat still and made sure his food was not taken away. "I then picked you up and took you to my place." The Talking man said.

After a tense meal and nonstop talking, Mut cleared his plate and had trouble giving it up. The plates were cleaned and put away in their place. That is when Mut took sometime to open and look into every drawer and cabinet. "How odd," Mut thought. "Everything has its place, its own spot to call home, to feel safe and warm around others of its kind." Mutt started to look around the house, pictures of family hung on almost every wall. They were all smiling, having a good time. Mut reached out to one the talking man was in. He was smiling and holding a female. They were dressed very well. "That is my wife." Mut spun around growling, he was startled. "Sorry, I thought you knew I was right behind you." The talking man said. "That is my wife," he said taking the picture off the wall. "I love her with all my heart, and I miss her every day." Mut was curouse to what happened to his wife. But Mut was to cautious to speak. The talking man put the picture back on the wall. There wear tears in his eyes but his smile never left. Mut wasn't sure what to do. What does one do when another feels, Mut stood their not making eye contact with the talking man. "Enough of that," the talking man said. "Why don't we call it a night. It's late and I have to go to work tomorrow. The bathroom it there and your room here." The talking man said pointing down the hallway and then opening a door.

Mut went into the bathroom not really sure what one does in there. "Feel free to take a shower," the talking man said. "There is soap in the tub and towels behind the door in there." Mut turned on the water and watched it fall out of the shower head. He slowly took of his dirty clothes and stepped in. Mut was very uneasy about this, "what is happening here?" He thought. He calmed down when he was in the shower. It felt great to get clean, it was very nice to wash so much filth off him. Mut couldn't remember the last time he was truly cleaned. Mut stood there after he was done washing to just let the water take away some of his nerves. After a while he got out and found the towels the talking man told him about. He dried himself off only to feel a bit upset he would have to wear his dirty clothes again. Reluctantly he put them on, opened the door and stepped out. He quickly made it to the room he was told he could use. There on the bed were fresh clean clothes. "What are these doing here?" Mut thought. He folded them up and put them into a drawer with more of them. Mut made sure they all were put in the right ones. After he had finished he heard someone knock on the door. "I am assuming you are in there." The talking man said. "Since you will not talk to me." He was right, Mut was in the corner ready to attack what every came through that door. "Those clothes are for you to wear. If you put them on I can clean your old clothes." Mut was very excited he had never gotten anything but beatings before. Here were some new clothes. Mut quikly put them on and felt great. Then he was on edge again. "What is happening here?" Mut thought. "What is this man doing? Does he have reason he is doing this? It is an evil one? And if it is not how long will it last? Mut slowly put his dirty clothes outside the door. He then propped the door closed with a chair and fell asleep covered up in blankets on the most comfortable bed he had every felt.

Heh, I'm still not quite sure if Mut is a man or a dog.

Anyway, have you already planned a longer story arc for this?

    • Link

I am not sure of that either, if he is man or dog.

At this moment I have no plans on adding to this story.

      Do you think I should?

      Thank you for reading it.

      I cannot believe you did.

      That was kind of you.

I think you should if you have an ideas of how to continue it. :D I'm most likely not the best person to advise you on this, as I can't continue anything that I write. I always jump to something else barely correlated.

And you're welcome. That's what I do, I read stuff, I unearth hidden things on the dark alleys of the Internet. This is my secret superpower. ;) Anyway, let me know if you decide to continue this.

I am glad you have that secret power, if you did not I do not think any one would read what I write.

You are a very good person to ask if I should continue it. You are the only one that read it.

I do that same thing, I start my writings but never finish them, I have many things started, and many more not finished.

Thank you, I will have to try to continue this story.

Oh, and please don't feel forced to continue just because of me! Wait till inspiration hits you, and I know it can take a while. In the meantime, you can keep posting poems about wolves ripping off human babies. ;)

            • Link

I will have to find a way to keep this story going,

I did not know you read the other one..... Uhm.... well that is what it is about.

Thank you for reading that one as well.

I hope you are not to upset with it.

              • Link

No, relax, I'm okay with that poem. :)

                • Link

Thank goodness. I have many like that, I do not post them that often, I do not know why I posted that one. I am happy you are okay with it.

                  That was worrying me.

                  • Link

Post away, I'm not that easily scared! Besides, it was just a different perspective, and you justified the point of view of the wolf pretty reasonably.

(btw, thanks for following me back, though you had no need to do that, etc etc)

                    • Link

I did not think of that, of the point of view of the wolf.

I am happy you are not easily scared.

I did too have to follow you back.

You are very kind and I will enjoy following you.

That is quite good. There are some spelling mistakes, but nothing major. I would read more of this if you decide to continue it.

Thank you for reading it and saying it was good. I have issues with spelling.

It gets me time to time.

I will have to add more.
