Alright I can’t hold back this photo any longer, even though it’s completely not about the photo, it’s about the subject.

This is a Green Salamander (Aneides aeneus) that I saw while hiking on Monte Sano this Friday! It was SUPER exciting to see one, because they’re not exactly a common animal to spot! The Green Salamander is listed as Endangered in Indiana, Ohio, Maryland, Mississippi, and North Carolina; Threatened in Pennsylvania; Protected in Alabama and Georgia; Rare in Virginia; and Special Concern in South Carolina and West Virginia.
