Sable grew a bit curious about Magnum the day he saved him from drowning. it was the closest he had gotten to someone from the surface. he began to follow him around without him knowing, but not approaching him. the accidental encounter with him earlier only made his curiosity grow.

later that day Magnum was walking along the lakefront trail. trying to pull them out of his pocket, he dropped his shades in the lake. frustrated, he was about to walk away, but noticed something emerging from the water. the sea monster he saw earlier while swimming surfaced, returning his shades to him. Sable bashfully didn't say anything when he thanked him and was about to swim away, but Magnum called out to him. he asked who he was, and they introduced each other. little did they know, they were forming a connection with each other.
