My Silence Is Not Weakness by greypillow

My Silence Is Not Weakness

greypillow

There are people who hate on those who would keep their silence, saying that their silence is weakness. Why not just come out? Why not tell everyone?

For so many of us, our silence is our strength. It is our safety and our well being. And it’s also pain. Forced to be silent about our own identities is not something we WISH for.

It is a necessity for anyone who does not identify as cisgender or heterosexual.

I’ve searched for inspiration to create a Gendeer design of my own for ages now, and when the Day of Silence came, I found it, and spent this entire time creating the design.
It’s also on Society6 as a shirt and stuff.

Exactly. I'm pretty low-key about it myself. I feel bad sometimes that I'm not more visible, not being openly identified as "transgender" because there are a lot of people who are hurting and just starting their transition, but the truth is I have a good life as a woman, living only semi-open and being seen mainly with cis women. I never felt this comfortable as a guy and I don't want to lose it by being seen as something "less than" a woman just because I was born male. So when I'm out and about, you'd never know it.
