I didn't play RPGs until late in my gaming life...so the first time I encountered one of these was in "Grandia XTreme" (PS2)--I was pretty freaked out! XD

    The Mimic Chests in "Grandia Xtreme" were super-mean, super-fast and really hard to defeat! @_@ And you literally couldn't tell the difference between them and a regular treasure chest until you tried to open it! I think the "Dragon Quest" series is also really big on throwing in Mimic Chests, too.

        Yeah! But on the plus side...they usually dropped lots of money or fantastic items if you defeated them! :)
