Race: Kel-Sìth (kel-SHEE)
Body Type: Aquatic, Androgynous - can change their genders at will
Parent Race: Kelpie, Cù-Sìth
Habitat: Swamps, Marshes, Lochs, Rivers, Ponds, Abandon Water Wells. Most common throughout Highland countries, and humid/tropical climates.
Basic Information:

Kel-Sìth are the children of Kelpie and Cù-Sìth, and are thus mostly aquatic creatures, though they can survive on land for long periods of time, should they choose. As long as their long hair on both their heads and tail remain wet, the Kel-Sìth can choose to live as a land dwelling creature for as long as they wish. Kel-Sìth have two forms, because of this; a bipedal form, more suited for spending time in the waters of Lochs, rivers, and ponds they call home, and a feral form, to use on land if they wish. It is a crude cross between a mighty steed, and a large wild dog, and is oft used when the Kel-Sìth are out hunting the roads for unwary travelers. In their bipedal form, Kel-Sìth will often wait, submerged within their watery homes, and simply wait for their next victim to step upon their flowing hairs, and get tangled within them. Then, they are grabbed and dragged under; drowned, and then devoured. They are very hard to spot, within the water, due to their limited body colours, which usually stay within the green-to-blue range.

Kel-Sìth are androgynous in their appearance, so it is very hard to tell which ones are male or female, unless closely inspected - which is not recommended, unless the Kel-Sìth approaches you first, else you'll end up their next meal. Kel-Sìth are solitary creatures that mate for life, and they are not discriminant against the sex or species of their chosen partner, and will stick with them until death they part. If the Kel-Sìth's mate dies before it does, then the Kel-Sìth will live out the rest of it's life in absolute isolation, and will not seek out another mate.

Kel-Sìth are rather curious and timid creatures, however, and oft seek out human companionship and attention whenever they can get it, and it is not unknown that Kel-Sìth often take on human companions for long periods of time, should that human prove favorable towards the creature (ex. if they are nice, offer it things, etc.). These periods of friendship should always be taken into cautious consideration, however, for they will last only as long as the Kel-Sìth can keep it's blood lust for human flesh at bay. Once they snap, their human friend now becomes their human food.

Kel-Sìth can be tamed, however, though only when they are in their feral form. Much like the taming of wild stallions, the Kel-Sìth must be 'broken' via a saddle and a wild ride atop it's back. It is advised to drive the creatures away from their watery homes, while breaking them, in order to make them weaker (as Kel-Sìth cannot survive very long on land, the drier their hair becomes). Only then will the Kel-Sìth submit to it's newly named master - both in it's feral and bipedal forms. Though, caution should be taken when housing a tamed Kel-Sìth. While there are a few Kel-Sìth that are known to actually enjoy living with their human masters (given they have a well, pond, or bath tub to soak in, and raw meats to keep their cravings at bay), almost all Kel-Sìth will take any chance they can get, to return to their watery homes. Even the ones that enjoy living with their human masters. Often, they will wait until their masters have turned ill, and die, before stealing away back to their true homes.

Specific Notes:
1.) Kel-Sìth have very large ears, and have excellent hearing, especially when they are on land.
2.) Kel-Sìth also have extra fluffs of fur along their shoulders, which have an extra pair of hidden gills under them, to assist in breathing underwater. The extra fur tufts are always a darker colour, than the rest of the body (minus the legs.)
3.) The hair on their tails is exactly the same as it is on their heads; slightly wavy, messy, and constantly dripping wet. Dry hair for a Kel-Sìth is a death sentence, as their hair holds amazing healing properties that help keep them alive, and completely resistant towards disease. The drier the hair, the more likely the Kel-Sìth will die of a sudden illness, and the weaker they become. Their healing powers are also what keep them alive for so long (the oldest Kel-Sìth on record was over 300 years old, before it died due to the stress of being captured, and starvation.)
4.) Kel-Sìth have large gills upon their chests, that they use to breathe underwater. Should these gills become constricted in any sort of way, the Kel-Sìth will use it's hidden ones to keep it alive.
5.) Kel-Sìth have thinly webbed hands and toes, and the webbing is often transparent, if not the same colour as their bellies (which are always the lightest parts of their bodies, along with their markings)
6.) Another set of hidden gills lay within the tufts of fur along the Kel-Sìth's inner thighs and rear.
7.) Kel-Sìth have dog-like legs that are always a darker gradient than the rest of their bodies, as are the tips of their tails (though with all that hair in the way, it is often not noticed.)
8.) Kel-Sìth are equipped with claws on their hands and toes, and a monstrous amount of razor sharp teeth within their mouths, meant for ripping and shredding flesh. Much like sharks, if one tooth falls out, another will grow in it's place. Some of these teeth can even be retracted a little, to allow the Kel-Sìth to close it's mouth.
9.) Kel-Sìth have dog-like noses, and a normal pair of lungs, which help them breathe while they are on land. This also gives them a great sense of smell.
10.) Kel-Sìth have oval-shaped pupils, and large eyes with small, round eyebrows. They also have three eyelids, which allows for them to see underwater. Though their eyes are large, Kel-Sìth have very poor eyesight, especially on land. Underwater, however, their eyes allow for them to see excellently, especially within the dark. They have an eye for shiny things, and are known to collect anything shiny, to add to their great treasure hoards.

please remember that the Kel-Sìth are a CLOSED species of mine. please do not make your own uwu if enough interest is generated in them, i will make adopts. thank~
