Story Time with FuzzAndRawMusic (WARNING! if you were not expecting massive wall of text) :

When I was a child, I was diagnosed as being on the Autistic spectrum; specifically with Asperger’s syndrome. I would overreact to small circumstances and chaotic environments, behave violently to people who would tease me, and I would take everything said literally. Many people thought I would never function in society because of my erratic behavior. As much as my parents supported me, against everyone else’s statements, I had a sense of insignificance compared to everyone else. Everyone in my life; my parents, sister, and friends, were better than me. I still have self-esteem issues that continue to this day. However I am not the only one who has faced some of the many struggles of Autism.

my father recently gave me the book , "The Reason I Jump" By Naoki Higashida (Link right here http://www.nytimes.com/2013/08/25/b.....hida.html?_r=0 )

The Title alone was enough to inspire this song. All I did was change the strings on guitar and I started playing the riff and singing "That's why I jump".

Now for the disclaimer

By NO MEANS does the lyrical content of this song apply to EVERYONE on the autistic spectrum. This is just one of the Many scenarios of what it is like for ME on the spectrum (no, I do not Jump, but I run and struggle with words) Everyone's experience is different.

If you read all of this, Thank you for taking the time to hear part of my story

Lyrics:

You see me
Hopping in place
Not a word from my mouth
Not a sound to be heard

It gives place
Where I belong
Where nothing is wrong

That’s why I jump

To block out the pain
That cold Empty pain
That locks me away

From everyone I love
From all that I care for

I have to Jump
To keep my thoughts at Bay
Those empty thoughts
Those painful Thoughts

I’ll go for a walk,
A very long walk

But the walls cave in
I get scared
I start to run

That’s why I Run, I have to Run
That’s why I Jump, I have to Jump

That’s why I jump to keep my thought at bay
That’s Why I sing, to help ease the pain
