The First Night by Foxridley

The First Night

Foxridley

Milo lay down on the sofa that Feroz had offered for the night. He wasn't entirely sure about trusting the wizard, but at least he had somewhere clean and dry to sleep; his newly sensitive ears picked up a sprinkle of rain on the roof. A blanket hung over the back of the sofa. He considered pulling it over himself for comfort, but he wasn't sure how he would go about doing that without hands. Besides, his-, the fur kept him warm enough. No, it wasn't his fur; it was Yuki's. He didn't want to think of the fur, or anything else about this body, as his. He was laying down like a dog; his body had just naturally taken this posture without Milo having to think about it. It was comfortable, but part of him didn't want it to be comfortable to be positioned like a common animal. By now he was becoming too tired to care. His eyes slowly closed; the emotions of the day and trying to process the constant alien sensations had taken their toll. Sleep finally claimed him; the first sleep in this new body, and hopefully not the first of many.

Still working on getting back into drawing. I sort of spontaneously decided on the sofa. I hope I did an okay job on it since I just eyeballed the perspective.
One little sort of trope-type-thing I like is when a transformed character falls asleep for the first time in their new body. It's hard to put into words why; it's along the lines of the character being resigned to the transformation.

My favorite part is when you wake up, still transformed. Really helps cement the idea that this is your body now. Even if it's temporary, you're gonna have to live with it.

And realize it wasn’t a dream.
