Well, here is my spacesune character, Daren, aiming his plasma rifle at someone. And don't worry about him getting hit. He got a personal shield for such cases.

This reminds me of something I said to Caleb when he was doing a webcomic about the kitsuneverse (I would link to it, but it seems that the files are gone. Such a shame) and that I was glad that Daren wasn't a part of it. While I think he took it that he'll act like A-Fox and be all random and such, that wasn't the reason. The reason is because Daren here would be too serious. That, if he was caught in a pirate ambush, he would sooner kill them than otherwise.

I would like to imagine that Daren here was once a far more nicer guy and would not take things seriously, the mission where he was promoted to experience (more info here) is where his naivety cost him the team he was in. While he did completed the mission, what happened to his friends and what he did to the ones who killed them scarred him deeply and thus acted cold and serious, partly to prevent the mistake he did that cost him his friends and partly to prevent himself be so wounded emotionally ever again.

. . . This sounded so depressing, doesn't it?
