Hehe you are not alone. It's a great compliment that you were able to recognize them from the thumb! :) And I agree! You never see dholes in furry and most people have no idea they exist, it's a real shame!

Anytime I've ever seen them depicted in furry art, everyone always assumes they're either red wolves, foxes, or folves (fox/wolf hybrids). Tho I think I once saw someone mistake them for and maned wolf and I was, like ".......WAT". XD
There needs to be an "Under-Represented Anthros Month" or something, to start creating awareness of different animal species within the fandom, LOL.

I have truly blossomed as an animal nerd, when I can recognize a PAINTING of a dhole from a teeny-weeny thumbnail, before even clicking it for the full image and description. WHAT AM I -DOING- WITH MY LIFE?! XD
Nah, in all seriousness, VERY amazing rendition of such a severely under-appreciated animal, that DEFINITELY needs to be discussed (and helped) more than it is. It'd be a crying shame to lose such an amazing critter before anyone gets the opportunity to better appreciate and understand it. =<
