Whether in life, or in death...you will serve me

Foxern

That's the line that inspired this drawing, "Whether in life, or in death...you will serve me." Of course, she was supposed to be a LOT cuter, but somehow that didn't translate out when I drew it. Originally she was supposed to be sitting but I was having too much difficulty with the pose.

I am really proud of how this turned out. It seems like I really have gotten better at...art. Yay me.

Anyways, this is Jeta, those of you familiar with my Copper Feather series will recognize the name, but this is an alternate version of her. This is my PonyFinder character (For those of you who don't know, PonyFinder is an add-on for Pathfinder). She is a Seapony Necromancer Cleric of Nightmare Moon. Out campaign is set 20 or so years after Luna was banished to the moon, not following the PonyFinder setting at all, really. We use Roll20.net which is interesting. There's a lot of other ponies in the group as well, but Jeta is the only evil one. I really did not manage to capture her cuteness... Oh well, pony in full plate. xD

Her Bio is as follows:

"Evil can be cute."

Cyan eyes staring wide eyed at the world from under a helmet that seems to have lost the lower half as well as having taken a number of blows. The face that peers out is of a young and innocent looking pony, barely into her adulthood, with the look of somepony who sees the world in a different light than the rest. Around her neck hangs a glimmering opal stone, strung on a bundle of tightly woven strands of seaweed. Under her battered full plate teal fur can be seen through pieces that have for some reason gone missing, as well as the dark teal of her mane sticking out from under her helmet and fin like tail sprouting from her flank. As if to match the state of her full plate, on her back she carries a similarly battered crescent shaped scythe beside her bag. Her bag is odd looking, made mostly from a rather large and long sea snail shell, capped with a seashell; it rattles softly as if filled with lots of little things. When she walks one only hears three clanks from her armor as she seems to be missing her front left boot and the three remaining boots leave wet hoofprints as if the boots were filled with water, though the prints quickly evaporate.

Jeta comes off as a bit naive due to having spent most of her life far from society, though she means well. Some things that ponies would consider common knowledge are complete mysteries to her. She's also a bit clumsy, wobbling and stumbling as she walks, bumping into or fumbling with things. Yet despite being a klutz and a bit uncultured, she still tries. She does her best to live up to preconceived standards that she believes have been placed on her, and she does so in a happy go lucky sort of manner. She has a sort of springy, stumbly gait as she goes about any task, always with a look of wonder and joy at the world around her. Yet if the situation calls for it, she can get quite serious in a hurry. All together this makes for a pony who does not look like a cleric, let alone act like one.

Jeta is from a small coastal village that thrived on fishing and trade. When she was a filly she often snuck out late at night to gaze at the moon and stars. One day when she was on one of her little adventures she found the entire village destroyed and not a single pony left alive. In her sadness she fled and over the years, shunned society living as a hermit. Her only contact came in the form of the trading ships that sailed by, which she traded goods to, using the things that she had collected from wreckage's to trade. It was a very simple and dull life until one night while watching the sea, the clouds parted and the full moon shone on the oceans surface and she heard something speak to her. She didn't understand what it said but it filled her with purpose and the feeling that she was meant for something, as well as a surge of magical power. She spent many years honing her new magical abilities and continued scavenging items (and corpses) from shipwrecks. It was in these shipwrecks that she came upon her armor, her scythe, and the opal pendant that she wears. Early in her life she came across her armor, it was old when she found it, beat up with missing pieces, but that's merely part of the charm that drew her to it, it wasn't until later in life did she discover that it was magic. The scythe was a find on its own level, deep in the underbelly of a galleon she discovered an armory full of nothing but rusted weapons, all save one. The lack of rust was not the only thing that got her attention, as the top of the scythe was a large crescent moon dotted with stars, though it's obviously seen better days and many battles. As for her pendant, she found it on a body that had washed up on shore after a particularly bad storm, the chain was ruined but the stone was beautiful, so she fashioned a holder out of a seashell and strung it with woven seaweed.

It wasn't until fairly recently that she saw the lessen of sea travel around her did she begin to wonder what else could be out there for her. Then she found the wreckage of a PonyFinder ship, and though she could make out very little from the water logged papers, she knew it was important, knowing this was her destiny. She donned the armor and set off in search of somepony who could point her in the right direction. It did not take long as the first settlement she came across knew all about what they were and where to find them. It also did not take long that the one who had given her her power and purpose was not well liked. All it took was one pony recognizing her cutie mark, apparently the holy symbol of Nightmare Moon as she discovered, for her to be shunned, hated and hunted. To evade her pursuers she dove into a river and swam as fast as she could to the see, guided by the light of the full moon.

From then on she has always taken great care to not reveal the source of her talent as she joined the PonyFinders and did her best to prove her usefulness on every mission they sent her on. But at the same time she is determined to do something great.

Or perhaps horrible.

On the few missions with the PonyFinders she has been on, the general consensus seems to be that she is reliable and helpful but her methods are...unorthodox. Some have refused to work with her, claiming that she is creepy and disturbing to be around for prolonged periods of time.
