I did eventually get my souls back.

I could only gaze in sadness at the pair of brilliant lights that gently drifted in the palm of the lich's hand. At the time it had seemed to be such a simple game that I had been playing, but I had unwittingly played straight into his hand.

Now I stand here, stiff as a board. Not from some external force or demand, but from my own realization that my very being is no longer my own.

I lost both my souls and my body. So I made this.
