Very nice. I'm curious, do you use a feather texture for the feathers around the neck in the shadows or is that all brushstrokes? I've been trying to play with the texture technique.

  Yeah, I tend to use textures, though in this picture it was kinda a fail.. I couldn't decide if I wanted to put in anymore effort or finish it how it is. X>

    I think it was a cool way to do it-- used sparingly to give the overall impression of real feathers.

      Oh I agree, it just didn't work for this picture, Far too toony. I gave up after a few. I got more realistic stuff still in the making.
